(Fort Lauderdale, FL, May 24, 2016) – Civilized Worldwide, a fast-growing media company that elevates cannabis culture, is pleased to announce it will present at the Viridian Cannabis Investment Conference on June 8 in Fort Lauderdale.
This event marks the first-ever cannabis investment conference held in the State, which has the Florida Cannabis Act (Amendment 2) on the ballot in November.
Entitled “Investing in the Emerging Cannabis Industry While Managing Risk” this invite-only event will explore the opportunities and risks in this growing multi-billion-dollar industry, and feature presentations and networking sessions with leading companies, executives, investors, scientists, and thought leaders in the industry.
Since Civilized’s launch in September 2015, the company has quickly grown from a digital publishing start-up to a burgeoning media network – appealing to an underrepresented audience of millions of motivated, productive adults who enjoy cannabis as part of their lifestyle. The company recently embarked on its second round of investment with the support of Viridian Capital Advisors, a New York-based strategic and advisory firm that works exclusively with emerging companies in the cannabis industry.
“With widespread legalization on the horizon, the growth potential of this industry can’t be denied,” said Civilized founder and publisher, Derek Riedle. “Given we bridge digital media – another highly lucrative industry – with cannabis and target a high value audience, we’re uniquely positioned to harness this growth.” Riedle will represent Civilized at the conference along with co-founder and president, Terri Riedle, and board member Mitchell B. Fox, former publisher of Vanity Fair and group president of Condé Nast.
This event follows the last two Viridian Cannabis Investment Conferences, which welcomed over 500 family office, venture capital, private equity, and high-net-worth investors to the first- ever cannabis investment conferences held in New York. The Viridian Cannabis Investment Conference will be held at The Westin Fort Lauderdale Hotel and will include presentations from leading companies in the fastest growing sectors of the cannabis industry, followed by a series of smaller more intimate meetings with investors and the CEOs of presenting companies.
