Fifteen Minutes Adds Civilized as First Cannabis Media Client

Los Angeles, CA (August 2, 2016)—Los Angeles-based communications firm Fifteen Minutes proudly announces Civilized as the newest addition to their client roster. Civilized is a preeminent media platform and 360° lifestyle brand that elevates cannabis culture through its wide-ranging coverage of politics, entertainment, health, tech and other trending news. Building on a major social shift across North America, the media company targets a previously untapped audience of millions of motivated, productive adults who choose to enjoy cannabis as part of a balanced lifestyle.

Fifteen Minutes will oversee content partnerships, events and panels, media relations, as well as contributions from social influencers and celebrities to the content that lives on the site.

"While we’re a young company, we’ve been breaking the start-up mold since day one, and attracting a partner like Fifteen Minutes is the latest example of that,” said Derek Riedle, Founder and Publisher of Civilized. “With their deep experience building entertainment and lifestyle brands, we look forward to working with Fifteen Minutes to grow and evolve our place in the mainstream media landscape.”

Over the past few months, the company formed its Board of Directors with the addition of Mitchell B. Fox, former publisher of Vanity Fair and group president of Condé Nast, as well as embarked on its second round of investment with the support of Viridian Capital Advisors, a New York-based strategic advisory firm that works exclusively with emerging companies in the cannabis industry.

"Civilized is a completely unique content platform that embraces a smart, elevated approach to cannabis culture,” said Howard Bragman, Fifteen Minutes’ Chairman and Founder. “We believe in what they’re doing and look forward to working alongside the Civilized editorial, digital and publishing arms to expand the brand while driving interest among consumers and brand partners alike.”
