Toronto, ON; Los Angeles, CA; and Saint John, NB (April 1, 2019) – Civilized Worldwide Inc. (“Civilized”) and Business of Cannabis announced today they’ll be maintaining their relationship as independent companies instead of joining forces under a formerly proposed acquisition.
“After many great discussions, we both realized that the business relationship we had before the proposed acquisition was the one that would work best for us all. We’ve always worked well together and expect that to continue well into the future,” says Derek Riedle, Civilized’s Publisher.
“The business and culture of cannabis are intrinsically tied, and we see each other as important links to our respective audiences. Although we didn’t move forward as a single family, we’re still moving ahead as friends. And that is great news for all involved,” says Blaine Pearson, Co-Founder and COO/CMO of Business of Cannabis.
The Business of Cannabis acquisition was one of three proposed by Civilized in late 2018. The 420 Games acquisition closed on March 22, 2019, and the Revolution Strategy acquisition is expected to close later this quarter.
