Willie Nelson Reveals What His Job is at His Cannabis Brand: Chief Tester

Nothing gets added to Willie Nelson's cannabis brand without his seal of approval first. That's why the country legend took the position of chief product tester for his cannabis brand, Willie's Reserve.

These days, Nelson is probably just as well known for his love of cannabis as he is his highly influential contributions to country music. So it's not surprising that his namesake cannabis brand has been pretty popular since its introduction a few years ago. And in a recent appearance on 'The Tonight Show' Nelson revealed he isn't just a figurehead for Willie's Reserve. No, Nelson also holds the coveted job of Chief Testing Officer, or CTO if you will. And as the veteran toker told host Jimmy Fallon, he's been consistently impressed by the Willie's Reserve products.

"I haven't run across any that I didn't like!"

While the legendary country singer was clearly having a bit of fun, the interview did touch on a more serious note, with Nelson reiterating how switching from booze and cigarettes to cannabis saved his life.

"I used to smoke two or three packs of cigarettes a day and drank whatever there was there to drink and I had pneumonia for or five times, my lung collapsed, I almost died. So I said, 'Wait a minute, I ain't getting that high off of Chesterfields.' So I throwed out the cigarettes, rolled up 20 joints, stuck it in there, and I haven't had a cigarette since," Nelson said.

The "Better Now" singer will release the first products from his new cannabis brand in the coming weeks. Post Malone first teased the arrival of his new Shaboink line of cannabis products back in May, and now it looks like Post is finally ready to bring launch the new brand with the help of premium cannabis brand Sherbinskis. For the launch Post Malone worked with Sherbinskis' founder Mario Guzman to develop the 'Posty OG' terpene profile that will be featured in Shaboink's non-intoxicating hemp pre-rolls.
