Willie Nelson Performs New Song 'Vote 'Em Out' At Beto O’Rourke Rally

As we’ve reported before, country and cannabis legend Willie Nelson was catching quite a bit of flak from his more conservative fans after the singer publicly declared his support for Texas Democratic Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke.

This past month, fans on the right side of the political spectrum were renouncing their support of the Red Headed Stranger, angered that he was taking his political activism public. They became particularly upset after Willie announced that he would be performing at a Beto rally.

Well, this Saturday, it finally happened. Before a crowd of 60,000 Beto supporters, Willie played a suite of outlaw classics, as well as a brand new political anthem called "Vote ‘Em Out".

Surprisingly, "Vote ‘Em Out!" is a song that even the Beto haters could get with, as its political neutrality harkens back to the non-partisan, easygoing Willie we remember from better days, when one’s political beliefs didn’t matter quite so much.

Considering all of the things going in on in Washington right now that can feel squarely out of our control, this song could easily be considered overly optimistic. But when that chorus comes around, it’s cathartic all the same.

Vote ‘em out!
