Watch: Wake And Bake With Cannabis-Infused Coffee Treat

Next time someone tells you only slackers use cannabis, show them this.

In this episode of the Munchies' series Bong Appetit, coffee roaster Kian Abedini of Compelling and Rich Coffee shows you how to make a "café de hashashin." The drink was a favorite of the Club des Hashischins, a 19th-century Parisian group that included such luminaries as Victor Hugo, Alexandre Dumas, Charles Baudelaire and Honoré de Balzac.

Composed of cannabis-infused butter, coffee and spices, Abedini says the café tastes, "like something you'd drink at home over the holidays." Give it a try some cold autumn morning, and unleash your inner literary genius.

Most people know that to consume alcohol and then get behind the wheel of a car is very dangerous — not just for the driver and passengers, but for anyone else sharing the road. For cannabis consumers, however, understanding levels of impairment is not so straightforward. To date, there is not yet a technology used by law enforcement that can accurately detect cannabis impairment similar to alcohol breathalyzers.
