Last year a committee that helped plan President Donald Trump's Inauguration ceremony pledged to donate millions of dollars to charity. And today, they still refuse to reveal where that money's going.

The Daily Beast published an article about the bizarre behavior of Trump's inaugural committee. Last year, the committee raised over $100 million for the Inauguration, an all time record and more than double what President Barack Obama raised for his first inauguration. The committee only spent around half of the money it raised and promised to donate the rest to various philanthropic causes. But they have yet to reveal what they've done, if anything with the more than $50 million they have leftover.

Initially, the committee said they would reveal what they did with the money in November 2017. But that deadline came and went. A spokesperson for the committee said they would divulge those details in their tax files for the year, but two months after that statement and there's no indication when that paperwork will actually get filed. In fact, the Daily Beast said the committee may not file that paperwork until September.

We do know the committee pledged to donate $3 million to hurricane relief efforts last fall (that was only announced after the Daily Beast asked them if they would do so). But other than that, there's been no public announcements, and that donation is only a small percentage of what was left over.

Of course, many of the donors for Trump's inauguration were business people trying to earn favor with the incoming new president. The committee brought in so much money that the person in charge of the effort is seen as a possible replacement for White House Chief-of-Staff John Kelly, who is under some controversy related to allegations of domestic abuse.

Consider me shocked to see Donald Trump involved in the mismanagement of finances!
