This Video Sums Up 2017 in Seven Minutes

Now that it is officially 2018, it’s a good time to look back on 2017, which has been an eventful and historical year for the world. In a year when the world seemed uncertain, grim, and illogical, people worked together in 2017 to create change and success. Science also delivered the beauty and wonder we sorely needed in 2017 because it healed people, it brought people together, and it inspired us to explore and to ask more questions in 2018.

The year started with Donald Trump being sworn in as the 45th president of the United States of America, which spurred change in the country. The day after his inauguration, millions of Americans gathered all across the country for the Women’s March to send a message to Trump and the world. More people continued to protest when Trump began to crackdown on immigration, which many continue to fight against. The entertainment industry also had a busy year, first with the “La La Land” and “Moonlight” Academy Awards mishap, and now with all the sexual misconduct revelations. Even with these challenges, 2017 has also been a year of beauty, with the total solar eclipse, the first seen coast to coast across America in nearly a century. When the eclipse came, millions of Americans savored the precious moment of tranquility, unity, and wonder, which will hopefully continue in 2018.

On Flatbush Avenue, tucked amidst the nexus of four iconic Brooklyn neighborhoods (Park Slope, Boerum Hill, Fort Greene, and Prospect Heights), medical cannabis company Citiva opened up their newest location at the turn of the new year. Walking through the shiny glass door, you’re first struck by the sleek tidiness of the front lobby. Both the dispensary's resident pharmacist and receptionist greet visitors as they clear patients (as does any medical dispensary in the country) before allowing them through to the retail room.
