“iCarly” is a popular teen sitcom that ran from 2007 to 2012 on Nickelodeon, starring Miranda Cosgrove as Carly Shay, a teenager who produces a web series with her best friends. The web series is created when Carly and her friends are funny in a school talent show, which begins their online presence. When they aren’t producing their show, “iCarly” is filled with laugh tracks and funny music that adds to the comedic feel of the entire show. Without these components of a traditional multi-cam show, “iCarly” isn’t such a light and funny show for teenagers. The laugh track and music elicits certain emotions and helps land certain jokes, but when both are removed, those moments can become awkward and uncomfortable. This is especially true in one particular scene with Carly and Gibby from “iCarly”, which becomes more creepy than funny.
