The Second City Comedians Name Their Personal Strains

The Second City is a world renown comedy club, theater, and improv school, that is also home to some of the greatest comedians, from the likes of Tina Fey, Cheri Oteri, Keegan-Michael Key, Gilda Radner, and many more. With their funny alumni and comedians, The Second City hosted “Always Legal to Laugh”, a night of comedy and cannabis with Civilized to celebrate the end of prohibition.

The event was held at the famous Montalbán Theater for two nights, where the group of comedians performed iconic material from The Second City library, original sketches about modern cannabis culture, and The Second City’s world-famous improvisation. Before the show, a few of the performers shared the name and type of strain The Second City would be, starting with “Tasty Bits”. This particular strain would be a sativa-heavy hybrid to mellow out the actors while also energizing them pre and post show. Even though the actors may have seemed high during the show while portraying different types of marijuana consumers, they certainly didn’t smoke “Tasty Bits” or any other strain before performing.

Right now, cannabis can only be legally purchased through dispensaries or online retailers, but that could change if a group representing corner stores across America gets its way. The lobbying arm of the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) is preparing to fight for the ability of their members to sell weed once it becomes federally legal in America. NACS doesn't have support for federal cannabis policy reform on their official agenda, but that doesn't mean they don't want a piece of the pie if the industry is legalized nationwide.
