While marijuana continues to become more accepted and more people become marijuana consumers, the demand for new strains increases. Consumers are particularly demanding more potent strains with higher THC concentrations. Now, there is quite the wide selection of these potent strains available because more growers are cross-breeding and producing hybrids with high levels of THC. A few years ago, some of the most potent strains had 22% THC and now, some of the world’s most strongest strains contain as high as 35% THC.

Nova OG is one of the strongest marijuana strains, and possibly one of the highest testing strains in history. Manali West, a grower that specializes in rare and unique strains, produces this flower with 35.6% THC. This extremely potent strain is a hybrid between Top Dawg Seeds’ Stardawg Guava and an OG/Diesel cross. Godfather OG is another potent hybrid that crosses Cherry Pie, Granddaddy Purps, and OG Kush to produce 34.04% THC. This potency broke the previous Cannabis Cup record of 32.13% THC. At this rate, in another year, strains will be double as potent.
