The 5 Craziest Fatal Marijuana Overdose Stories

As cannabis consumption becomes more common, people are finding more ways to consume the plant. Marijuana affects people differently depending on a number of factors including the amount smoked and the way it is smoked. These consumers are now smoking more often and larger quantities, which sometimes results in people going a bit crazy. Even though consumers have certainly had bad experiences smoking cannabis, we have yet to see a single documented death attributed to an overdose of smoking or consuming marijuana in any way. Evidence shows that large doses of marijuana doesn't actually impair major organ functions or cause them to shut down. Other evidence and studies have shown that a user would need to consume anywhere between 3 to 46 pounds of marijuana at a time to overdose, but that again, has never been reported or documented.

Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) isn't the most vocal cannabis advocate on the 2020 presidential campaign trail, but you shouldn't take that as a lack of support for marijuana legalization. Unlike many of the top contenders for the upcoming Democratic primaries, Ryan hasn't filed any of his own cannabis legalization bills.
