Snoop Dogg and Patrick Stewart Are Investing in a Cannabis Company Together

When you think of famous celebrities teaming up for projects, you probably think about Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling in La La Land or Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga in the new A Star is Born. But apparently we can add a new celebrity duo that everyone has been expecting for years: Snoop Dogg and Sir Patrick Stewart.

Snoop is investing $10 million in Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies, a company based out of the United Kingdom that's researching marijuana's effects on pain and inflammation. Snoop is the second celebrity to work with Oxford as actor Patrick Stewart had been involved in the company for several months, and serves on the company's advisory board.

Both Snoop and Stewart are open about their cannabis use. Stewart admitted he uses medical marijuana to help deal with arthritis related issues. and obviously we don't have to talk about Snoop's well-documented history with the drug.

Snoop is investing in Oxford through his venture capital firm Casa Verde, a firm that invests money in cannabis businesses that aren't directly involved in the actual production, distribution and sale of marijuana.

Now we just need Stewart to invite Snoop to meet the Queen of England.

Latest.

It costs an average of $4,000 for police to bring someone up on cannabis changes - but it could run the defendant as much as $20,000 to fight the case. It's no secret that a lot of taxpayer money is wasted each year on enforcing unjust marijuana laws. By some estimates, as much as $3.6 billion is spent every year arresting some 820,000 Americans on cannabis-related charges.
