Snoop Dogg Treats The Great White North To Strains Like 'Ocean View' And 'Palm Tree'

The wait is (almost) over for Canadian cannabis enthusiasts eager to sample the fruits of a partnership between Tweed, the major Ontario-based medical marijuana producer, and rap icon Snoop Dogg.

Tweed announced in February that they would be working with the renowned cannabis connoisseur to produce a selection of Leafs By Snoop marijuana strains for Canadian consumers.

Now, the company has announced that the first three Canadian Leafs By Snoop varieties – Sunset, Ocean View and Palm Tree CBD – will be available for purchase later this month. The offerings are set to expand over time, ranging from a high CBD option to mid-to-high-range THC options.

"Like hip hop, cannabis is as much a lifestyle as it is a culture," Snoop Dogg said in a Tweed press release. "Leafs by Snoop is an expression of my experience with that culture over decades on the scene."

"What started for me in the '90s in Cali now has a home in places like Colorado, where real progress is being made. Now that Leafs By Snoop is coming to Tweed, I'll be able to share my passion for the best cannabis on the planet with Canada."

Tweed president Mark Zekulin said in the release that “at this stage in his career, Snoop is much more than an artist, entertainer and entrepreneur.”

"He's also one of the most trusted voices in cannabis the world over,” said Zekulin. “With this partnership we're welcoming a cannabis culture icon into the Canadian industry, and as a true partner of the Tweed team."

Tweed will celebrate the Canadian launch of Leafs By Snoop with Snoop himself in Toronto on October 27.
