New York Times Reporter Emily Steel Takes On Bill O’Reilly

In 2015, Bill O’Reilly threatened New York Times reporter Emily Steel on-air saying, “I am coming after you with everything I have. You can take it as a threat." Now, two years later, O’Reilly’s exit from “The O’Reilly Factor” is a complete full circle moment for Steel, as she published the article revealing his sexual harassment settlements. Steel found that over the last 15 years, O’Reilly settled with at least five accusers for a total of $13 million. After the sexual harassment scandal that resulted in the termination of CEO Roger Ailes last year, Steel began looking into Fox News, putting in six months of research to find these stories and tell these women’s stories.     


With the end of the spring legislative session just days away, New York lawmakers are making one final push towards legalizing cannabis in the Empire State. The hope is to vote on legalization this Wednesday. There have been a lot of ups and down for Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) and his fight to legalize recreational cannabis in New York.
