Never step lightly onto Willie Nelson's bus. The country legend and cannabis culture icon is notorious for smoking people under the table - right, Toby Keith? And Nelson's particularly merciless with unwary authority figures - like a federal prosecutor that tried to hang out with Willie a little while ago.
The prosecutor was actually a friend of 'Super Troopers' star Jay Chandrasekhar, who tried to warn his buddy about Willie's weed before the two of them partied on the bus after a concert.
"You're gonna feel a lot of pressure to smoke cuz you're on Willie's bus, but this batch that he's rolling with right now is a little strong, so I would recommend highly that you don't smoke it," Chandrasekhar recalled saying while retelling the tale yesterday on 'The Tonight Show.' Unfortunately, his friend Steve didn't follow that advice, so he was more than a little worse for wear Chandrasekhar ran into him later that night.
"I go back to the back of the bus, and there's Steve standing next to Willie Nelson, and Willie Nelson's holding a joint. And I'm like, 'Hey Steve, just remember it's a little strong, so I would just skip it if I were you.' And then like a dragon, a plume of smoke comes streaming out of [Steve's] mouth, and I'm like, 'You're on your own now.'"
Needless to say, the party didn't end well for Steve, who was in particularly bad shape because Nelson saw him coming. When Chandrasekhar revealed later on that Steve was a federal prosecutor, Nelson said, "I thought I smelled some narc on him, so I brought out my strongest stuff."
