The Statue of Liberty, Times Square, pretty much any given street corner or subway platform…

It goes without saying that New York City is ripe with photo-ops at nearly every turn, so it’s no big surprise that geotag data from Instagram has revealed that the Big Apple was the most-Instagrammed city of the year.

Next after the Big Apple are London, Moscow, São Paulo, and Paris, Los Angeles, Saint Petersburg, Rio de Janeiro, Istanbul, and Jakarta.

In the United States, the most Instagrammed cities were Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Miami, San Diego, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., and Houston.

In terms of specific locations or tourist attractions that gather the most geotags, Disney Theme Parks and Universal Studios Theme Parks kept Instagrammers busiest throughout the year. The top 15 Instagrammed attractions can be found below – did you snap a pic at one of these famous locations this year?
