When people had a difficult decision to make in the past, they consulted their friends or elders for advice. Today, we simply go onto Google, type in our dilemma and do whatever the magical search algorithm tells us to do.
Mental Floss gathered the most commonly asked questions on Google that begin with "Should I." As in, "Should I buy a dog?" They then took that data and put it into a handy dandy map. So here's the most commonly asked "Should I" questions in each state:
As you can see, the biggest category of questions seems to involve either weight loss, dieting or fasting. Although if you're typing that into Google instead of asking a doctor, we think you already know the answer to that question. There's also a lot of people asking whether they should move to a new place to live.
There's a concerning amount of people asking whether they should vote, and an even more concerning amount of people asking if they should even care. There's also a lot of people looking to get into bitcoin.
Amusingly, people in Michigan are asking Google whether they should vape, while women in Illinois are asking if they should dump their boyfriends. If you have to ask Google that question, then the answer is yes.
But our favorite answer comes from the very tired people of Virginia whether or not they should take nap. Just get some rest, Virginia!
