In January, millions of people across the country and across the world joined the Women’s March, arguably the biggest single-day demonstration in U.S. history. Now, the millions of people who participated in the march won the PEN/Toni and James C. Goodale Freedom of Expression Courage Award. The non-profit promoting literature and human rights, PEN America, is presenting the award to honor all participants for exercising their freedom of expression and demonstrating “exceptional acts of courage.” The award will be accepted by Bob Bland, one of the organizers and national co-chairs of the March, in New York City in April.
