We often talk about different strains of marijuana and the effects it can have on the user. But you may still not be sure what cannabis strain is right for you. Don’t you worry, we’ve come up with seven ways to know if a marijuana strain is right for you:
Pretty simple. You should get a marijuana strain that has a taste you will like. Do you like fruity and sweet strains? Do you want something earthy? There are many different tastes for marijuana, so you might as well pick one you like.
Along with taste, you should probably pick a strain that smells good to you as well. Do you want something that smells citrusy or do you want one that’s really pungent and skunky? You should also probably take into account where you live. If you live in an apartment building with nearby neighbors, you may want to avoid getting the stinkiest cannabis you can get your hands on.
At the very basic, you’ll probably want to decide whether you want an indica strain or a sativa strain. Indicas are known to be more for relaxing, so they’re better if you’re planning to just stay at home after using. But sativas are more known for producing energy so they’d be better if you want to go out and do something. Or you could just get a hybrid and get the best of both worlds.
4. THC Content
You should also decide how much THC you want in your marijuana. If you’re inexperienced or used to low THC strains, you should probably stick to less potent strains. That’s probably also true if you’re going to do something and you don’t want to get too high. But if you are used to more potent and powerful strains and are just looking to get the best cannabis experience possible, then maybe a higher THC strain is right for you.
Different marijuana strains are known to give different effects. Some give a ton of energy, while others are known to just get you really relaxed. Some boost focus and creativity, while others make you sleepy or hungry. Maybe you just want a strain that will help deal with pain.
Nothing about the name of a marijuana strain will change anything about the actual experience of using it. But still we think you’d rather use a strain called Fruity Pebbles or Girl Scout Cookies as opposed to “Generic Weed Strain #12.”
While all of the above factors are perfect for knowing if a strain’s right for you, you still have to consider the strain’s audience. If you’re the only one using, then go ahead and pick whatever you want. But if other people are also going to be using, you may want to pick a more popular strain that’s more likely to please your friends.
