Marijuana Makes Sex Better for Most Women, Says New Study

A recent survey shows that women tend to have better sexual experiences after having a little weed.

The survey asked 373 women to discuss their libido and sexual experiences. Of the 373 study participants just under half reported consuming cannabis and noted significant improvements to their sex life after consuming cannabis.

"Among those who reported using marijuana before sex, 68.5 percent stated that the overall sexual experience was more pleasurable, 60.6 percent noted an increase in sex drive, and 52.8 percent reported an increase in satisfying orgasms," the study's authors wrote.

Dr. Becky Lynn - the study's lead author - said she became interested in the affects of cannabis use on sexual satisfaction when a number of her own patients reported using marijuana to help with their sexual issues.

"I have seen [cannabis] used in women with chronic pain disorders that lead to painful sex, women who experience difficulty with orgasm or an inability to orgasm, and women who use it to improve their libido, which may not match their partner’s libido," said Lynn, who is a professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Saint Louis University in Missouri.

While Lynn's study doesn't help us get any closer to understanding why exactly cannabis appears to have these positive effects on sexual experiences, it does reveal that marijuana can be a great aid for women looking to get a little more out of their sexual experiences.

A bird trained to tipoff drug dealers has been seized by police in Northern Brazil. It's not uncommon for people dealing in illegal substances to have some sort of early warning system to let them know if the authorities are approaching. Silent alarms, watchdogs and human guards are all common.
