Country Legend Loretta Lynn Tried Cannabis For The First Time - At Age 84

“I know he smokes pot, but my goodness, there’s a lot people doing a lot worse than smoking pot!”

That's country music legend Loretta Lynn talking about duet partner and "one of the greatest people in the whole world" Willie Nelson in an interview with PEOPLE. But Lynn doesn't share Willie's taste for ganja - not for lack of trying, however. As she told the interviewer, she decided to give cannabis a try at the age of 84:

“I got glaucoma and they gave me one of these cigarettes...I took one smoke off of it and it hit me right here in the chest. I like to have died! Glaucoma is just going to have to take over.”

Fair enough - but don't give up yet, Loretta! There are more and more products and lifehacks than ever that give the healing properties of marijuana without the nasty cough.

Willie might even be able to help you with that.

Loretta Lynn's latest record, White Christmas Blue, is now available.
