This month, Vancouver will host a cannabis conference that will be strikingly more upscale than the 420 festivities and the marijuana farmers markets that the city is known for. Lift will host a swanky Cannabis Expo at the Vancouver Convention Centre from January 12 to 14.
Billed as “Canada’s meeting place for cannabis,” the three-day event features a business conference for cannabis industry professionals as well as aspiring ganja-preneurs. There will also be a cannabis career fair, main-stage talks with influential industry insiders, a trade show featuring nearly 200 exhibitors, cooking and growing demos and a vape lounge for unwinding between and after events.
The entire first day of the conference (January 12th) is devoted to the business of cannabis. This networking event will draw influential professionals from both across Canada and around the world to talk about the industry.
The sessions include topics such as quality assurance in the supply chain, which is especially important as recreational legalization looms ahead of us in Canada. Other topics include cannabis branding, the potential of overlooked ancillary services, investment and genetic development strategies, as well as a lunch-and-learn and a networking event.
Whether you're a current cannabis professional, an aspiring entrepreneur, or just curious about the job possibilities in this growing industry, there will be experts on-hand to help you take your understanding of this emerging sector to the next level.
Workshops and Stage Talks
The workshops and stage talks are an absolute dream for anyone looking to get more information on both the business and the plant itself. The Lift Cannabis Expo features live demos on both cooking with cannabis for edible enthusiasts.
And for everyone with a green thumb, there will also be demos on plant cultivation that will allow you to try out new growing techniques first-hand.
The talks also include topics on a wide variety of subjects, including the role of women in the industry, empowering local communities through marijuana reform, the importance of cannabis in harm-reduction strategies, and other topics that will help marijuana legalization make a difference around the world.
The Lift Cannabis Expo also features a career fair hosted by Cannabis at Work. Bring your resume and sit down for a five minute express interview to get feedback on your skills and find your place in this growing industry.
Experts will also help you find out more about the jobs available in the industry, as well as information on how to develop the skills and tools that top employers in the cannabis industry are looking for.
At all times throughout the weekend, the exhibition will be taking place, featuring over 100 well-known brands will be showing off their goods and services.
The exhibition includes brands such as Canadian Cannabis Clinics, offering information about the clinics they operate, as well as Chronic Canvas, which sells cannabis-themed fine art and apparel.
And you won't have to worry about missing out on Expo swag because tickets for the event start at just $15. Check out pricing and packages here.
