Lagunitas Just Made the First Ever THC-Infused Sparkling Water

The Lagunitas brewery has made several announcements and indications that they will begin exploring creating cannabis-infused beverages now that legalization is becoming more popular. But one of their first products to contain THC is...sparkling water?

Lagunitas announced the creation of Hi-Fi Hops, a sparkling water based off of their popular IPAs that will also be infused with cannabis. The sparkling water will come in two varieties, one that contains 10 milligrams of THC and one that contains five milligrams of both THC and CBD. Yes, that means you can actually get high off this sparkling water. It's the first time a company has infused sparkling water with THC, and it's also 100 percent legal.

"Hi-Fi Hops is not the first chapter in the love affair between cannabis and Lagunitas, but it is one of the most exciting," said Maria Stipp, CEO of Lagunitas Brewing Company. "The idea of being a part of a no calorie beverage infused with cannabis seemed like a perfect next step in our product innovation and a natural way to marry our past with our future."

Lagunitas is only making the actual sparkling water though. They then send the water to a company called CannaCraft who infuses the cannabis into the beverage.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to enjoy this beverage unless you live in California. The beverage will only initially be available in marijuana dispensaries in the Golden State.

Latest.

It’s no secret that my husband and I are longtime cannabis and hemp advocates. We’ve cheered as the majority of Americans have come around to supporting legalization, and applauded as cannabis law reform spreads from state to state. Still, decades of prohibitionist propaganda have left many in the dark about the powerful wellness potential of these long-demonized plants.
