Updated: John Oliver Took On The Canadian Election And He's Going to Get Away With It

On the Oct. 18 edition of "Last Week Tonight," John Oliver devoted most of the show to the Canadian election.

The segment introduced the three major Canadian political parties and their leaders - including Stephen Harper and his now-infamous comment that cannabis is "infinitely worse" than tobacco. In classic Oliver style, the segment was informative and really, really funny.

Update: Macleans published a new story indicating Elections Canada says they'll not be fining John Oliver. In fact, Elections Canada says the law doesn't even apply to this situation.
