Idaho Man Tries to Trade Weed for Fast Food, Winds Up in Jail Instead

Idaho resident Brian Starliper, 22, was taken into custody by Idaho Falls police earlier this week after Starliper allegedly went on Facebook and offered to trade a gram cannabis wax to anyone willing to deliver him a meal from the local McDonald's or Burger King. However, instead of seeing a friendly face at his door with a paper bag containing burgers and fries, local police showed up at Starliper's home with a search warrant.

When police searched Starliper's home they found 10 grams of cannabis and cannabis concentrates, a gram of cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Police charged Starliper with possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute at the time of his arrest. The marijuana-related charges alone could see Starliper with a fine of as much as $51,000 and a two-year prison sentence (assuming he was charged with intent to distribute the weed and not the cocaine) and an additional 7 years and a fine of up to $15,000 for possession of the gram of cocaine.

And none of this is to mention that Starliper already had two outstanding warrants, one for a probation violation and the other for failing to appear in court. None of that is going to help this guy's case either.

While it's great that Starliper had enough sense to know he shouldn't drive after smoking up, he also should have known that publicly offering to trade an illegal substance for a burger and fries was a great way to get a free ride to jail.
