You've probably never seen an ad for Cann-Pet's products, but if you've spent any time looking in to CBD treatments for your furry companions, you've probably heard of Canna-Pet anyway.

"We don't advertise, because we don’t have to. People find us organically online or through referrals," says Canna-Pet CEO Dan Goldfarb. And as he says there is good reason for the natural buzz that has built around his brand of pet-oriented CBD products.

"We pioneered CBD for animals by developing the first pet products, pet biscuits and animal-targeted liquids. We underwrite extensive cannabis research specifically for dogs, cats, and horses. We also have a nonprofit foundation and a vast network of rescues through which we support animals globally with products and donations."

"We give away more products than we sell, and we sell more products than all other competitors combined."

"The short answer is we make and sell guaranteed safe and effective products, on a mass scale, to rigorous quality standards, which are universally well regarded and well received."

How did you get into the CBD space?

I have always loved animals and I wanted to help them. It started with my cat Mariano when he was sick, who was the first animal to take Canna-Pet products and it drastically improved his quality of life.

Walk us through a normal day.

On a normal day, I correspond with 2–3 neuroscientists, a pharmacologist or HPLC lab technician, and researchers including veterinarians, doctors and clinicians.

Then, on the business side, I correspond with marketing agencies, manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers. I talk to our technical people and our customer support to make sure things are working well for them and especially our customers.

There are a huge number of specialists supporting every aspect of our efforts, so I like to touch base with team leads to make sure everything is going well on a regular basis, and everyone is acting in concert.

I listen to music while I think/work and I have six cats that are around me at all times.

What do you see as your biggest opportunity?

To use my success to not only benefit animals but to also to make positive social change on a global scale.

What sets you apart to make you a potential leader in CBD?

For animals, we pioneered our industry sector and continue to lead in customer satisfaction, product efficacy, pace of product development and improvement, scale of distribution, media coverage and acceptance, scientific and clinical research underway.

While others talk, we do. We could not be happier about our position in the CBD industry.

Finally, we’re like an iceberg—the 90% of what we are up to—that remains beneath the surface will change the world.

What is the most frustrating aspect of the CBD industry today?

We have been through everything you could imagine with laws and restrictions. At this point, we are past it.

What advice would you give to anyone looking to get into the CBD space?

I like to refer back to this quote from Napoleon Hill: "Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggles."

What are your biggest tips for branding CBD?

At this point, I believe it’s too late to enter the market as a new CBD brand for pets.

Do you consume CBD? And if so, what's your favorite way to consume?

I use products by The Black Dahlia.
