New York rapper Jim Jones was arrested Thursday night in Georgia after a vehicle he was riding as a passenger refused to pull over. Jones received several charges, including possession of a stolen firearm and possession of marijuana.
Jones - best known for his work with hip-hop group The Diplomats - was arrested along with three others by Georgia police on Thursday night in Coweta County after the driver incited a car chase after failing to pull over. The vehicle eventually collided with a police car and was forced to stop.
After searching the vehicle, police found an undefined amount of cannabis and cannabis oil, along with other prescription drugs two loaded pistols—one of which was determined to have been stolen—and what the county Sheriff Office says Jones called "just petty cash."
Jones received felony charges for possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of narcotics. He did manage to provide a valid prescription for the oxycodone and Percocets found in the vehicle but was slapped with a misdemeanor charge for not having them in the appropriate containers.
Jones was held in custody for a short time before posting the $7,000 bail.
