Hip-Hop Artist Post Malone Beats Out Drake For Most First Week Streams With His New Album

Until last week, hip-hop heavyweight Drake held the record for most first week streams for his most recent album (though he calls it a 'playlist,' whatever that means). But, a new record has been set by relative rap new-comer - Post Malone - whose sophomore album, 'Beerbongs & Bentleys', topped Drizzy's record by almost 50,000 plays, and was streamed 431 million times in its first week, reports Rolling Stone.

Posty can also claim the best week sales of the year, seeing the most sales of any album since Taylor Swift released Reputation in November of last year. Oh, and 'Beerbongs & Bentleys' debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard 200, and then went platinum 3 days after release, so there's that too.

You can check the Kill Bill inspired video for the album's lead single "Rockstar" above.

Proponents of the War on Drugs often claim that it's about keeping communities safe. But US drug laws are based less on public health and more on social control, according to Diane Goldstein—Chair of the Law Enforcement Action Partnership (LEAP). "I think what's critically important is that most Americans recognize that, inherently, our drug laws have never been about public health," Goldstein told Civilized.
