Web Series 'High Maintenance' Moves To Premium Cable

Home Box Office is now the hot-boxed office. High Maintenance, one of the web's most acclaimed original series, is making the jump to the cable giant.

The series began on the online streaming platform Vimeo, where it ran for six seasons. Unfortunately, the episodes aren't available there now, but they'll reappear this fall on HBO Go, alongside a brand new season.

Each episode of HM focuses on a ubiquitous, sage marijuana dealer known simply as "the guy", and New Yorkers who buy from him. The show's wry, character-based comedy has won it wide acclaim - Pulitzer Prize-winning TV critic Emily Nussbaum called it "luxurious and twisty and humane, radiating new ideas about storytelling."

So keep your eye out for High Maintenance when it hits HBO this fall. It'll fit nicely amongst current comedies like "Girls" and "Veep" - and maybe it'll tide you over until the next season of "Game of Thrones".
