Here's Your Chance To Get Paid To Smoke Weed

A Canadian company is offering a dream job for cannabis connoisseurs: the opportunity to get paid for smoking weed.

Toronto-based company AHOLT is a cannabis curation platform that wants to showcase the best cannabis that Canada has to offer. To figure out what is the best of the best, they need product testers, which is where you come in. A few weeks ago, AHOLT released a job posting that promises the lucky applicant the opportunity to get paid to smoke weed.

Yep, the lucky applicant will get "$50/hr to evaluate the best that Canada's growers have to offer." However, those interested in this dream job will face some steep competition as AHOLT has already received close to 20,000 applications.

"We've been receiving, believe it or not, one applicant a minute since we launched," AHOLT Vice-president Martin Strazovec told Global News.

AHOLT has five of these marijuana-tester positions to fill, so if you think you've got what it takes, you can sign up at the job posting's website.

Latest.

I've been covering cannabis for nearly five years, and by now I'm all too accustomed to the impersonal cannabis conference at a stuffy, generic hotel or expo hall, brimming with white guys in suits, and generally lacking in the spirit of well, cannabis. (The woes of legalization, I suppose.) So it was a breath of fresh air when I walked into what felt like a giant atrium in downtown LA for a new kind of cannabis conference. Located in what's called the Valentine Grass Room in an industrial area past the hustle and bustle of the DTLA skyscrapers, Microscopes & Machines (M&M) boasted a diverse array of speakers, from doctors and lawyers to chemists and cultivators on the frontlines of the cannabis industry.
