Happy 53rd, Jon Stewart

Jon Stewart once said, "Do you know how many movies I wrote while I was high?" That earned him the sixth spot on Marijuana Policy Project's Top 50 Most Influential Marijuana Consumers.

It also means he gets birthday greetings from people like us in the cannabis industry. The Emmy Award winner, comedian, writer and former host of Comedy Central's The Daily Show, turns 53 today.

Marijuana Politics did a nice round-up of many of the episodes where Stewart touched on the topic of marijuana and legalization. Unfortunately, readers outside the U.S. won't be able to watch The Daily Show clips embedded on the page there.

Perhaps the most bittersweet and memorable moments from Stewart's career came just in the last year as he hosted his final episodes of the show. Watch a supercut of some of those moments created by Redeye Chicago below.

Jon announced this month that he has signed a new four-year deal with HBO to deliver exclusive digital content, and we'll watch eagerly to see each new project he unveils.
