AMC is providing fans of The Walking Dead with an opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the undead experience ahead of the hit show’s Season 7 premiere on Oct. 23 – by running an 88-hour marathon that’s sure to leave viewers feeling somewhat like zombies themselves.
While the marathon will not run all at once, it will begin with Season 1 and the first half of season 2 on Sunday, Oct. 16 starting at 7 a.m. ET. The marathon will then be broken up by a two-hour retrospective on the series Sunday night, at which time you may want to take a snack or snooze break if you haven’t seen past the second season.
Every evening for the rest of the week, the remainder of the 88 episodes will run from 6 p.m. until the early hours of the morning. The marathon will finish with the Season 6 finale just before the Season 7 premiere on October 23.
The Walking Dead marathon is just one facet of this year’s FearFest, AMC's annual two-week horror programming event that helped launch The Walking Dead back in 2010 . From Oct. 13 through Oct. 31, AMC will screen a host of horror classics including Carrie, Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Exorcist and Chucky for a total of 400 hair-raising hours.
