Watch: What Eugene Levy Thinks Of Legalization

Huffington Post Live recently did a feature interview with Eugene Levy - a star on CBC TV's 'Schitt's Creek' who is also known for his characters on SCTV and his role as the awkward father in the film series American Pie.

The interview began with a chat about 'Schitt's Creek', but halfway through turned political as Canadian-born Levy was asked about Justin Trudeau's recent election as Canadian Prime Minister.

"I think it's refreshing," Levy told Huffington Post host Alex Miranda.

Then he revealed his thoughts on Trudeau's promise to legalize recreational cannabis.

"I think that's a great thing. It's a great thing for a country. It's a great thing for down here. It would solve a lot of problems," said Eugene Levy. "I'm definitely for it. They sell alcohol, I just don't know what the difference is. There is no difference."

He went on to cite many familiar pro-legalization arguments.

Watch Eugene Levy share his thoughts in this video. Just fast forward to the 12 minute mark where Levy begins by talking about Justin Trudeau's election.

Derived from the part of the cannabis plant that doesn't get you “high” like THC, cannabidiol (CBD) is typically used for health reasons instead of for recreational purposes, and has been found to be especially useful for treating symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. A challenging neurodegenerative disorder, Parkinson’s causes a combination of motor and non-motor symptoms — such as tremors, weakness, stiffness, dizziness, anxiety and sleeplessness — that affect daily life. CBD, typically taken in oil form, has the potential to relieve these symptoms, improving sleep, reducing inflammation and more, which can profoundly help the more than 10 million people across the world suffering.
