Does Floyd Mayweather Smoke Weed?

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a professional boxing champion who has since retired as one of the greatest boxers in history with an undefeated record of 50-0. Mayweather had an undefeated record of 49-0 until he recently knocked out challenger Conor McGregor in one of the biggest boxing matches of all time. Many sporting news and boxing websites have ranked Mayweather as the greatest pound for pound boxer of all time. His supporters and commentators also refer to him as the best defensive boxer in history and the most accurate puncher. Mayweather first started boxing after his father was imprisoned, “I knew that I was going to have to try to take care of my mom and I made the decision that school wasn't that important at the time and I was going to have to box to earn a living.” Now, Mayweather is not only one of the greatest boxers, but he is also ranked as one of the highest paid athletes in the world, as he brings in millions of pay-per-views.

Pay-per-views is very important to Mayweather, since it’s earned him all his wealth and success, which led him to produce an All-Access show on Showtime. During one particular episode leading up to the fight between Mayweather and Marcos Maidana, Mayweather is seen rolling joints and smoking. The Nevada State Athletic Commission called Mayweather to explain the footage seen, which he explains, "It wasn't real marijuana. It's all about entertainment… We believe in going outside boxing and doing something different. Because we did something different we got better pay-per-views this time around." Mayweather’s lawyer also further confirmed that the boxer does not smoke marijuana, let alone second-hand marijuana which could appear on a drug test.
