Alex Trebek is best known for hosting the famous TV game show “Jeopardy!” since it was revived in 1984. Before Trebek became the popular host he is today, he joined Canada's premier network CBC in 1961 after deciding he wanted to be a newscaster. While working at CBC, Trebek helped organize national news and covered a number of special events for the network’s radio and television divisions. Trebek received positive reviews for his work as a broadcaster for his poise and composure, which eventually led him to become a Canadian game show host on “Reach for the Top” in 1966. He continued to host for another seven years until he moved to the United States to host another game show “The Wizard of Odds”. Then in 1984, Trebek was chosen to host the revamped version of the game show “Jeopardy!” Trebek has broken the record as host of TV's number one quiz show in the country, and today he continues to host for the show’s 34th season.
Even though it isn’t a common category on Jeopardy!, Alex Trebek has some experience with cannabis. Trebek admits to trying medical marijuana to treat his pain, but he also admits to not liking the medicine, "I have terrible arthritis in my shoulders and a friend of mine said, 'You should try marijuana. It will help get rid of the arthritis.’ It didn't, so I didn't continue smoking." Though he stopped smoking, this didn’t stop Trebek from consuming marijuana, “I went to this party at a home in Malibu...and they had hash brownies. I love chocolate. And I ate about four or five hash brownies. The party was on a Friday night. I didn't leave their home till Monday morning - no exaggeration."
