Meet Chewy: The Battery Operated Cannabis Grinder

After having to laboriously grind their own bud since time immemorial, pot smokers can finally buy a portable grinder called the Chewy. It operates all by itself, no manual hand twisting required.

A Traditional AC Powered Grinder, aka A Coffee Grinder

Not to be confused with ye olde coffee grinder, this new device is battery operated and doesn’t need to be plugged in, making it a real boon for the truly lazy and forgetful cannabis consumer. Barbs aside, it could also be a huge help to those who experience mobility issues with their hands and use cannabis as medicine to treat pain.

The device is available in several admittedly quite pretty colours and finishes. It was born through crowdfunding, and while people seem excited about it, there have been some hiccups and delays with availability, according to a few gripers on the product’s Facebook page.

The company says it will be available for purchase in September, though keeners can pre-order if they want for $64.99 USD and up.

Latest.

On Flatbush Avenue, tucked amidst the nexus of four iconic Brooklyn neighborhoods (Park Slope, Boerum Hill, Fort Greene, and Prospect Heights), medical cannabis company Citiva opened up their newest location at the turn of the new year. Walking through the shiny glass door, you’re first struck by the sleek tidiness of the front lobby. Both the dispensary's resident pharmacist and receptionist greet visitors as they clear patients (as does any medical dispensary in the country) before allowing them through to the retail room.
