3 High-Flying CEOs Who Smoke Marijuana

We told you about the Marijuana Policy Project's round-up of 50 influential, cannabis-smoking Americans - and now, Fortune is adding a few more movers and shakers to the list.

While admissions from Oprah and Michael Bloomberg may not come as a big shocker, here are a few more high-powered names who prove regular cannabis use isn't necessarily a career-killer.

Richard Branson

Named Top Social Media CEO by World of CEOs, Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson told GQ he smoked marijuana with his adult son, Sam, during a vacation in Australia. He's got some serious credibility in that regard: he also told Piers Morgan he learned to how to roll from Stones guitarist Keith Richards.

Mark Johnson

The CEO of Los Alamos-based tech company Descartes Labs says he smoked cannabis day in and day out at one point - and spoke on the prevalence of cannabis among Silicon Valley tech workers.

"People just don't care," he told Bloomberg. "If you do, you don't need to hide it; and if you don't, you accept that there are people around you that do."

"Pot is an extremely functional drug," he says. "Coders can code on it, writers can write on it."

George Zimmer

The founder and former CEO of Men's Wearhouse told CNBC he's "been smoking marijuana on a regular basis for about 50 years."

In addition to founding Men's Wearhouse, he also created online tuxedo rental/tailoring companies Generation Tux and zTailors.
