Cannabis for Beginners - Here's Where You Start

Are you new to cannabis? Are you interested in revisiting cannabis after stepping away from it during your younger years? Are you unsure of where to start? Look no further than Civilized's new video series "Cannabis for Beginners" with founder Derek Riedle.

Cannabis culture and consumption has changed dramatically over the last few decades. More states have some version of legalized cannabis than not, and the stigma of consuming diminishes each passing day - even prominent republicans are coming out in favor of broad legalization. So how should you approach making cannabis a part of your healthy lifestyle today (because yes, it is much healthier than alcohol)?

In many areas of North America the cannabis industry is a highly-regulated, sophisticated, clean and safe environment with skilled and informed 'budtenders' to help walk you through your options and dosages. If you're lucky enough to live near a dispensary you will find them much more inviting and trustworthy than your local bar.

And as the culture has changed, so too have the ways to consume. You no longer have to know how to roll a joint or pack a bowl to consume. Not only can you buy joints already pre-rolled, but there is a whole host of new ways to consume that your medical or recreational consultant can explain and walk you through. (Just don't jump right into dabbing.) (Trust us.)

What are edibles? What's a budtender? How long does cannabis stay in your system? How much should you consume? These are just of a few of the questions we answer in "Cannabis for Beginners." Follow our Youtube playlist for updates.

There are so many strains of marijuana available it can be nearly impossible to figure out which one is right for you. And sure, a knowledgeable budtender could point you in the right direction, but we think we've figured out a better method for choosing a marijuana strain. Take our quiz below to find out which cannabis strain is your true soulmate.
