Cannabis for Beginners - How Long Does Cannabis Stay in Your System?

The age old question every cannabis consumer has asked is: How long will this stay in my system? The reasons for that question can vary, but it is usually asked by someone with an upcoming job interview who is concerned about passing a drug test. Let's face it, we've all been there.

Everyone's body is different, but here's what we know. If you're an occasional consumer it usually takes three to seven days for cannabis compounds to be flushed from your system. For regular users, it can take up to a month. Some positive tests have even occurred after 77 days! Of course, once cannabis becomes legal, there will become fewer and fewer reasons for testing.

That last line is key. The cultural norms around cannabis have shifted greatly towards legalization in the last few years. What was once considered something scary and potentially damaging is now being seen for what it really is: a plant that has a multitude of medical benefits. The more society understands the possibilities of cannabis (seriously, would you rather take opioids which have killed millions or cannabis which has killed no one?), the less likely you'll need to worry about being tested.

What are edibles? What's a budtender? What is CBD? How much should you consume? These are just of a few of the questions we answer in "Cannabis for Beginners." Follow our Youtube playlist for updates.

Local officials and law enforcers often have fears that allowing legal cannabis shops to operate within their jurisdictions will have detrimental effects. Some people fear that allowing pot shops in their neighborhood will increase violent crime rates, allow young people easier access to the drug and lower the property value of surrounding homes. But is any of that true?
