Cannabis Consumers Have To Check Out The 'Cannabis Oasis' At Coachella This Year

Even though recreational marijuana use is now legal in California, smoking up is still prohibited at major music festivals like Coachella. But thanks to the 'cannabis oasis' sponsored by WeedMaps, music lovers won't have to go far to have a puff before watching Radiohead, Lady Gaga and Kendrick Lamar rock the annual festival at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

WeedMaps - the Yelp of cannabis dispensaries - is teaming up with the marketing firm Talent Resources to build the 'oasis' for cannabis consumers 6 miles outside the festival grounds. According to TMZ, "the spot will feature 2 grow houses, a 'greenhouse,' and 5 geodesic domes to test different strains from GenX, Brass Knuckles and West Coast Cure."

Here's a sneak peak at what the site will look like.

TMZ added that the cannabis oasis is legal and that the pot products are free for festival goers. So if you're heading for Coachella this year (which runs from April 14-16, 21-23) be sure to stop by and enjoy a puff of freedom. Otherwise you might spend both weekends getting asked, "Where were you while we were getting high?"

In the old days, weed "branding" was defined by plastic baggies, pot leaf imagery, tie-dye, and in some cases, imagery of conventionally hot girls in bikinis or booty shorts. The messages back then revolved around weed as a stereotypically male stoner pastime, whilst alienating women, or those who didn't appreciate the strip club aesthetic in connection to their medicinal or recreational products. But in recent years, and especially in legal states, this has all begun to change.
