It Looks Like Canada Is Already Starting to Run Out Of Weed

It looks like day one of legalization was more successful than retailers had anticipated.

Just three days into Canada’s historic legalization of cannabis, it seems as though many locations across the country are beginning to experience a bit of a supply shortage due to high demand.  Reports from several provinces began pouring in on Thursday that stores were running low on product and struggling to meet the market.

As things begin to normalize, the market keeps growing and the government continues to make adjustments to the legal structure, many are anticipating that things will begin to smooth out. But according to the C.D Howe Institute, supply could be an issue that spans across the whole first year of legalization.

It's no real surprise that interest is high—it just remains to be seen how big it can get.
