Take Off, Hoser: Bob & Doug McKenzie Return To Support A Good Cause

Hosers of the world, unite: Canadian comedy heroes Bob & Doug McKenzie are returning for one night only.

The tuque-clad brothers - portrayed by Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas, respectively - made their debut on the seminal comedy series 'SCTV'. They eventually got their own self-titled album (see below) and their own movie, 'Strange Brew.' Their last appearance was in 2007, but on July 18, 'Take Off, Eh!' will reunite the brothers with some famous friends.

As the Toronto Star reports, Thomas's nephew Jake was left paralyzed from the waist down after a snowmobiling accident. All proceeds will go towards his recovery, and to Spinal Cord Injury Ontario.

The list of famous friends lending their talents to the evening is a who's-who of Canadian comedy. Martin Short will perform as his alter ego, portly red carpet reporter Jiminy Glick; Dan Aykroyd and 'SCTV' alums Catherine O’Hara, Eugene Levy and Joe Flaherty will perform comedy.

But that's not all. 'Kids in the Hall' Scott Thompson, Dave Foley and Kevin McDonald will perform, as will legendary late night bandleader Paul Shaffer. The lineup also promises plenty of special guests.

Tickets go on sale June 12th at The Second City's website. You might want to recycle your beer cans, though - they start at $500.

And if you can't make it, you can still put on your headphones and take off to the Great White North:

Going to a dispensary for the first time can be a surprise for parents, who may have a different impression of the cannabis retail experience (i.e. buying weed in a baggie from a dealer). In this episode of Cannabis Conversations, parents from all walks of life tell us about their experience with dispensaries.

Can we see some ID please?
