Bill Maher Offers Jeff Sessions An Olive Branch (In The Form Of A Gummy Bear)

Comedian and outspoken cannabis consumer Bill Maher has proposed a cannabis truce with Jeff Sessions, Donald Trump's pick for America's next attorney general. The Alabama senator's staunch opposition to marijuana has cannabis advocates concerned that the administration will begin a crackdown on states that have legalized marijuana. But Maher thinks that the two sides might be able to come to keep the peace if each one gives a little.

"I'm telling you, when they make these edibles that look like gummy bears - that is a terrible idea. If we concede that one point, then maybe Jeff Sessions will leave us with our pot," Maher told Jimmy Kimmel last week. "Don't make pot look like other things."

Maher loves having a puff, but he detests edibles because they've plunged him into some bad times. "Sometimes I'm reading the fine print. Is this cookie - I can't remember who gave me this cookie - it looks like a regular cookie. What's the worst that can happen? Cut to me splayed out on the sidewalk."

According to Dr. Ethan Russo, who wrote the research paper Taming THC, a 1:1 ratio of CBD:THC is more effective for pain management.
