Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders must've had a hunch that Donald Trump would bring him up in the third presidential debate. Hillary Clinton's former rival for the Democratic nomination took a pre-emptive strike against The Donald by releasing his top ten anti-Trump tweets just before the showdown between presidential candidates began in Las Vegas.
During the verbal sparring in Nevada, Trump brought up Clinton's former rival, saying that Sanders once said Clinton had "bad judgment." But Sanders' criticism of Clinton is a pat on the back compared to what The Bern has said about The Donald.
Here are his best takedowns of Trump, in the order that he posted them on Twitter.
1. Dictator in Chief?
Trump: “I alone can fix this.”— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) July 22, 2016
Is this guy running for president or dictator? #RNCwithBernie
2. Making Bangladesh great again
If Trump is concerned about companies going abroad maybe he should move his plants out of Bangladesh where workers are paid 30 cents an hour— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) September 27, 2016
3. Trump's legal credentials
I don't know if it's a world record but Donald Trump has been sued more than 3,500 times over the past 30 years. #DebateWithBernie— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) September 27, 2016
It's pretty telling that Donald Trump thinks the problem with his sexist tweets is the time that they were sent. https://t.co/jF09wLSwao— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) September 30, 2016
5. Trump's domestic policy
Those who voted for me will not support Trump who has made bigotry and divisiveness the cornerstone of his campaign. #RNCwithBernie— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) July 22, 2016
6. Corporate welfare
Trump wants more tax breaks for billionaires, won't raise the min. wage & denies climate change. This isn't someone who should be president.— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) September 27, 2016
7. The Donald's racist rhetoric
Trump has taken people's anger and anxiety about terrorism and converted it into anger against Mexicans or Muslims. It's wrong and immoral.— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) July 31, 2016
8. Flip-flopping on Racism
How dare Trump express concerns about African Americans when his birther efforts attempted to delegitimize @POTUS. What a hypocrite!— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) September 27, 2016
9. Climate change conspiracy theories
10. The anti-endorsement
We have got to defeat Donald Trump and do everything we can to elect Hillary Clinton to the White house. #DemsInPhilly— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) July 25, 2016
So Sanders may have questioned Clinton's judgment at times. But he's also been perfectly clear about his opinion that Trump would be far worse in every way than Clinton as president.
