Aspiring Indiana Jones? You're Wanted in the Holy Land

Researchers need your help to solve a centuries-old mystery.

On September 21, 2015, Israeli archaeologists announced that they may have discovered the tomb of the Maccabees, a sacred site of inestimable importance to Jews and Christians. The Maccabees were instrumental in preserving Judeo-Christian culture against invaders, and they founded Hanukkah.

To verify their findings, much more excavating must be done. And the Israeli Antiquities Authority wants your help. If you're over 16, and you're interested in combing through artefacts for keys to unlock a Biblical mystery, grab your bullwhip, don your best fedora and head over to the Holy Land this fall.

Here's the signup sheet for volunteers.

And here's a video of the site with more on its history:

Both houses of the New Jersey legislature have chosen to postpone voting on a bill that would have legalized recreational cannabis in the state. New Jersey Senate President Steve Sweeney (D) has announced that Monday's Senate and Assembly votes on the New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory and Expungement Aid Modernization Act has been cancelled. "While we are all disappointed that we did not secure enough votes to ensure legislative approval of the adult use cannabis bill today, we made substantial progress on a plan that would make significant changes in social policy," Sweeney said in a statement on Monday afternoon.
