American Life in 6 Charts

Great news for everyone who likes to be alone: Things get really alone the older you get! For everyone else, this set of charts from The Atlas may be a bit sobering. The six charts show how who we spend our time with changes as we progress throughout life. 

Turns out when you retire and all of your kids move out and your friends start dying, you don't really have a ton of people to hang out with. And even more depressing is the graph about coworkers and how much you spend with them as opposed to everyone else in your life...

But don't let that get to you. Just enjoy these six amazing graphs and how they sum up who we as Americans hang out with.

After all we have a lot of Partner time ahead of us anyway. 


People who use marijuana often say they're happier than when they're not using cannabis. And now scientists are saying that may actually be true. A study of marijuana users and non-users in California and Colorado found that people who consume cannabis tend to be happier than people who don't.
