Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Says She Doesn't Care if the President Smokes Marijuana in Office

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has made many headlines for her progressive views since entering Congress. And it turns out her progressive views even extend to the President of the United States smoking weed.

Ocasio-Cortez ran into a TMZ news crew while walking around Capitol Hill recently. TMZ asked the freshman congresswoman how she feels about Democratic presidential candidates embracing marijuana legalization, and Ocasio-Cortez says that she's happy the party is supporting the issue and she hopes they not only legalize cannabis but also work to fix the damages done by the War on Drugs. TMZ that asked whether she would be ok with a president who smokes marijuana in the Oval Office, a reference to California Senator and 2020 presidential candidate Kamala Harris' recent admission that she smoked cannabis, and the representative says she didn't care and didn't think it would be that much different than someone who drinks in the Oval Office.

“There are plenty of people who drink,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “They’ll go out to happy hour, they’ll go out and have one, two, three [drinks]. How is that different from anything else?”

We're not sure whether or not Donald Trump would be a better president while high. Although honestly, he couldn't be worse, so maybe it's worth a shot.
