Alex Trebek's Accidental Brownie Bender

Longtime gameshow host Alex Trebek is known for keeping his cool even with hostile contestants on Jeopardy (1984-present). But he once put himself in jeopardy while incautiously grazing on pot brownies at a party. In November 2015, Trebek - who turns 76 today - stopped by the The Howard Stern Show and opened up about his experience with marijuana edibles.

"I went to this party at a home in Malibu...and they had hash brownies," Trebek said as Howard laughed. "I love chocolate. And I ate about four or five hash brownies. The party was on a Friday night. I didn't leave their home till Monday morning - no exaggeration."

Trebek also opened up about smoking marijuana medicinally.

"I have terrible arthritis in my shoulders and a friend of mine said, 'You should try marijuana. It will help get rid of the arthritis. It didn't, so I didn't continue smoking."

A non-profit group of over 150 current and former athletes is calling for marijuana to be removed form the World Anti-Doping Agency's prohibited substances list. Medical marijuana legalization is spreading across the US, but most pro-athletes are still prevented from accessing it. That's because most major sports leagues follow drug guidelines set by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), which bans athletes from using cannabis even outside of competition.
