A German Teen Called The Cops On His Mom For Growing Weed

A German teen called the cops on his mom on Monday for growing cannabis plants.

Yes, you read that right.

In a strange twist on the classic tale, a 15-year-old reported his mother to authorities after confirming online that the plants she was growing at home were, in fact, cannabis.

Police said they found 19 plants as tall as 1.5 meters (or about five feet) at the woman’s home near Frankfurt in Germany.

They proceeded to open an investigation on the mother, who became so furious at her son that he had to be taken into protective custody “for some time.”

It's safe to say family dinners will be sufficiently awkward going forward.

Derived from the part of the cannabis plant that doesn't get you “high” like THC, cannabidiol (CBD) is typically used for health reasons instead of for recreational purposes, and has been found to be especially useful for treating symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. A challenging neurodegenerative disorder, Parkinson’s causes a combination of motor and non-motor symptoms — such as tremors, weakness, stiffness, dizziness, anxiety and sleeplessness — that affect daily life. CBD, typically taken in oil form, has the potential to relieve these symptoms, improving sleep, reducing inflammation and more, which can profoundly help the more than 10 million people across the world suffering.
